The **Linux Audio Quality HOWTO** is / was a very long, badly structured, hand-edited document, originally created by me, SlinkP. This website you are visiting is intended to replace the AQHT. I started the AQHT after having some bad experiences with noise in my soundcard. Many people contributed, and it grew, and grew, and grew... The Audio Quality HOWTO originally contained this introduction: <table bgcolor="#FFFF66"> <tr><td> This is a document for musicians and others who need to get good-quality sound out of a Linux box. The intention is to make it easier for those migrating to Linux to get their system to sound good. The Linux Documentation Project's Sound-HOWTO and Sound-Playing-HOWTO serve their purpose well, but the focus there is (quite appropriately) on functionality, not quality. <p>The Audio-Quality-HOWTO was first released on May 16, 1999. </td></tr></table> If you still want to read the AQHT, it's at http://www.linuxdj.com/audio/quality Past contributors to the Audio Quality HOWTO are listed here: AQHTContributors. Much of their work survives in this website.
