Terratec makes some nice cards, some with S/PDIF capability. At least some features of some of these cards are supported by OSS-Linux. No ALSA support as far as I know. Cards with digital in/out are: xlrate-pro (output only), the Soundsystem DMX (input and output), and EWS 64L and 64XL (in and out). Prices for EWS cards start around $350 US or so.
